Nashvillians, the dining and entertainment options for you continue to grow and improve.  The area between 12th AVe S and 11th Ave S. on MaGavock St. will be the new home to a  modern steakhouse,  Lime  (the Miami/Tequila Bar restaurant  relocating from Midtown), and a live entertainment venue with close to 1,500 capacity.  This area already hosts the new Virago location and the popular Whiskey Kitchen.

This area is being deemed a one-stop entertainment district for great food, fun, and nightlife.   The life behind the development, Chris Hyndman said his 1-year-old Whiskey Kitchen restaurant on the edge of the Gulch (118 12th Ave. South) has more than doubled its original revenue projections. The 5-week-old relocated Viragoacross the street at 1126 McGavock draws a constant crowd even on weeknights.

“Both have done exceedingly well — which speaks to this location,” Hyndman said. “Today, I am taking a huge leap, but there are great indicators like the convention center will be a huge boom for M Street. It’s cradled between the major arteries in and out of downtown.” (Tennessean)

Below you can find some descriptions of the new and current restaurants………

Area Restaurants:

Whiskey Kitchen: great lunch, dinner, late night modern whiskey tavern.  tons of different drinks, outdoor patio with fire-pit, great food

Virgo:same sushi classics from Virago of old but location is easily double the size, very open and friendly atmosphere, serves sushi until 12am.  sushi bar, large square central bar and offers private dining.

Lime:Opening 2011, very similar to the other “Lime”, margaritas, upscale tequila, latino based restaurant

Kayne Steakhouse:  Opening 2011, located in the old “Radius 10″ spot, this will be a modern twist on an upscale steakhouse with local foods, seasonal items, and very chef-driven menu.  Sounds great to me!
